The building folds as a C-shaped structure around a communal garden. Most of the existing trees can be retained. The front of the building is orientated towards the neighbouring buildings to the south. The rotation towards the street creates a small triangular forecourt, which provides access to the building and the underground car park. The communal areas on the ground floor open up towards the forecourt and also open up in the other direction towards the green garden. An open passageway, where the letterboxes are located, leads to an arcade that provides access to the flats.
The pergola is divided by niches in front of the entrances. The pergolas extend the students' living space to the outside and act as a place for communication and spontaneous encounters. The flats are divided into two living areas by a sanitary centre. The living area, which is used for cooking and eating, is orientated towards the pergola. The quieter living area for sleeping and studying is orientated in the other direction. The cooking/dining areas facing the pergola and the corresponding windows reinforce the pergola as a communication strip. In addition to the desired single flats, there are four two-person shared flats and four shared flats for students with children. In total, the hall of residence offers space for 77 students.
